Proxies for GitHub
Connect proxies to Git, the GitHub API, your own runners and work integrations. Use a static outgoing IP for whitelisted systems and check compatibility before buying.

How GitHub proxies work
A proxy routes supported GitHub requests through an intermediate IP. It can be connected to a Git client, a script, the GitHub API or your own CI/CD infrastructure.
A static address is convenient when an external service accepts requests only from whitelisted IPs. A sticky session suits a short sequence of related actions.
A proxy does not change GitHub access rights or limits. Private repositories and the API still require standard authentication.
| Process | Setting | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Git and HTTPS | Static IP | Stable outgoing address |
| GitHub API | HTTPS proxies | Routing of permitted requests |
| Your own runner | Static proxy | IP for a whitelist |
Why use proxies for GitHub
Proxies help route work traffic through a given IP, connect your own tools and keep one address for integrations.
Git clients
Configure supported Git HTTPS operations through a proxy.
GitHub API
Connect permitted scripts and internal tools to the API.
CI/CD
Use a specific outgoing IP in your own build infrastructure.
Whitelists
Keep a static address for external systems with IP restrictions.
Which proxies to choose for GitHub
The choice depends on the tool, the traffic volume and whether you need to keep the outgoing IP unchanged.
Datacenter proxies
For Git and API work requests when speed and traffic cost matter.
From $0.50 / GB at 10,000 GBDatacenter proxies →Residential proxies
For permitted checks of public GitHub pages from the selected country.
From $0.60 / GB at 10,000 GBResidential proxies →Mobile proxies
For testing your own mobile tools through carrier IPs.
From $1.50 / GB at 10,000 GBMobile proxies →Static DC proxies
For your own runners and integrations that need an unchanging server IP.
$1 / IP / monthStatic DC →Static ISP proxies
For long work with a permanent IP from an internet provider network.
$2 / IP / monthStatic ISP →What GitHub proxies are suitable for
Git clone, pull and fetch
Route supported Git HTTPS operations through a given IP.
GitHub API
Route permitted requests from internal applications and scripts.
Your own runners
Set the outgoing address in a managed build infrastructure.
IP whitelists
Use a permanent address to access related work systems.
Repository monitoring
Check permitted events, releases and public data via the API.
Releases and packages
Configure supported downloads from GitHub Releases and Packages.

Keep a suitable IP for GitHub
Git and CI/CD usually need a permanent address. Use IP change only where the workflow actually provides for it.
One address for an integration
Use a static proxy for a runner or a whitelist.
One IP for the session
Keep the address for a short sequence of related requests.
New address between checks
Change the IP between independent permitted checks of public pages.
